The entrepreneurial spirit and drive for innovation are strong with Francesco Dell’Endice, founder and Chief Executive Officer of QualySense. With a Ph.D. in Spectroscopy and Remote Sensing from University of Zurich (Switzerland) and holder of engineering degrees from universities in Italy, France, and Australia, he is leading the company made up of a dynamic and very international team. Francesco believes that one should draw upon passion and dedication of people to destroy mountains and create a better future for humanity.
With 25 years of experience managing complex technology projects, Paolo D’Alcini, PMP, is a founder and the Chief Operations Officer of QualySense. Paolo ensures the seamless operations of the entire supply chain and production to provide customer with an outstanding product integration and after sales services. Paolo’s fluency in English, German and Italian, and his good command of French allow him to efficiently communicate with the team and partners.
Motivated and driven by good design practices and efficiency, Riccardo brings to the company his multi-year experience in Corporate R&D and Engineering Management practices and processes. He holds a master degree in Photonics and a PhD in Physics. During the course of his career he became passionate about the “engineering of organizations” and found his way to QualySense in 2018 where he can now combine, Purpose, Passion and Progress.
With an Executive MBA degree he can serve now the company in many ways while keeping a strong focus on product development and digital innovation.

Thanks to 40 years of experience in high- tech analytical and measurement equipment, Dr. Geoffrey Scott saw the potential of QualySense in its early days. In 2012, he joined the company’s Board of Directors to become its Chairman. Geoffrey’s impressive range of expertise includes international management, strategy, business development, sales, marketing, and after-sales. From 2002 to 2016, he was the CEO of Uster Technologies AG, the world-leading manufacturer of equipment for quality assurance and standard-compliance. Geoffrey led the company to close two private equity rounds, IPO on the Swiss SIX exchange (2007) and, finally its acquisition by Toyota Industries Corporation in 2012. In addition to his role as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of QualySense, Geoffrey acts as a Co-Chairman of Uster Technologies and a member of the Advisory Board with Humatica, a boutique consulting firm. A BSc Honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of Liverpool, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Nottingham prove the scientific expertise of Geoffrey Scott. In 2008, Ernst & Young named him Swiss Entrepreneur of the Year. Born in 1954, Geoffrey Scott is a citizen of the United Kingdom.
Francesco Dell’Endice is well-versed in raising and managing funds for disrupting technology. He has played a pivotal role in fueling QualySense with CHF 20 million and turned his idea into the world’s most efficient, actionable kernel inspection and sorting technology with the help of a dedicated international team. Born in Andria, Italy, Francesco speaks six languages. His impressive education and research records include a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences and Spectroscopy from the University of Zürich, Master in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Certificate of Applied Science for Space Studies from University of South Australia, Bachelor in Spacecraft and Vehicles Engineering from Supaero – Toulouse, and an award for the 2008 Best Paper from Young Authors at ISPRS, Beijing. In 2012, Ernst & Young chosen him as one the Swiss Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist.
Stefan Blarer was one of the first angel investors to put their trust in QualySense and to join its Board of Directors in 2010. 30 years of research and business development experience in life science, agribusiness, have made Stefan a formidable expert in these fields. His contributions have been beneficial for an array of corporations and small enterprises internationally. From 1995 to 2007, Stefan Blarer was a member of the Research Advisory Board of Novartis and the R&D leadership team of Syngenta. He managed analytical activities, research computing and laboratory automation throughout more than a decade, ensuring seamless mergers and reorganizations. In 2007, Stefan founded and became the Managing Director of Drimarch, a life- science consultancy and innovation management company in Basel. Drimarch guides European SMEs and startups through innovation and growth. In some cases he acts as a business angel. Stefan is one of three Drimarch partners who coach startups for Innosuise, the Swiss Innovation Agency. Stefan Blarer holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemistry and Natural Sciences from the ETH in Zürich. He completed postdoctoral studies in natural chemistry at ANU in Canberra and Zoecon in Palo Alto, CA. He is certified in business organization and teaching. Born in 1954, Stefan Blarer is a citizen of Switzerland.
In 2013, Beat Bühlmann joined the Board of Directors of QualySense as an early investor. Venture capital and private equity have been his main focus for more than 20 years. Beat has been working with institutional investors and has raised several billion dollars to date, managing direct, collaborative and fund investments in a variety of sectors internationally.
Daniel got in contact with QualySense during a pitch at venturelab in 2016 and is representing a major shareholder in the Board of Directors since 2017.
He has more than 20 years of international experience working in the field of the Fast Moving Consumers Goods industry (food/beverage).
He started his career at Moevenpick Ice Cream where he was in charge of the International License Business Development. Afterwards he joined Mars Inc. and was active in several executive sales roles. Since 2000 he works for Red Bull Energy Drink where he was in charge of setting up the Swiss sales organization followed by different Managing Director positions within Europe. As of 2015 he is in charge of Global New Business Development at Red Bull Headquarters.
Daniel Kallay earned a master of business administration from the University of St. Gallen (lic.oec. HSG). He was born in 1967, is a Swiss and Slovakian citizen and lives with his family in Meggen/LU.
One of the early investors in QualySense, Markus Schnurrenberger joined the company’s Board of Directors in 2011. Markus has been working as an attorney-at- law and civil law notary for more than 30 years,. His experience within the legal field is paired with commercial training he received at the Credit Suisse organization in Zurich and New York. Since 1995, Markus has been partner of the Bär&Karrer law firm in Zug. Together with colleagues Andreas Baumann and Dr. Urs E. Kohler, he founded KS Lawyers Notaries in 2004. The company was reorganized into Schnurrenberger Tobler Gnehm & Partner, a Zug-based boutique firm of attorneys, notaries and tax advisors, in 2016. Besides QualySense, Markus is a director of several Swiss small enterprises and vice- chairman director of the Zug Bar Exam Commission of Experts. Markus holds the 1983 Master of Law from the University of Zurich. Born in 1958, he is a Swiss citizen.
