Geoffrey Scott was an early investor in QualySense and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2012.
He has more that 40 years experience working in the field of high technology analytical and measuring instrumentation. He has broad international experience of general management, strategy and business development, innovation and product development, sales, marketing and after-sales.
From 2002 to 2016 he was the CEO of Uster Technologies AG, the market leader for quality testing instruments & standards for the cotton/textile industry. He led the company through 2 private equity financings, an IPO in 2007 on the Swiss SIX exchange and a takeover by Toyota Industries Corporation in 2012.
He is now Co-Chairman of Uster Technologies and also serves on the Advisory Board of Humatica, a boutique-consulting firm.
Geoffrey Scott earned a BSc Honors degree in Biochemistry from the University of Liverpool, and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Nottingham. He was the 2008 Ernst & Young Swiss Entrepreneur of the Year (Industry). He was born in 1954 and is a British citizen.
Alberto Romaneschi was a founder and business angel investor in QualySense and has been on the Board of Directors since its formation in 2010.
He has more than 30 years’ international experience working in finance in various industries including food and beverage.
In 2012 Alberto joined RELX Swiss Holdings SA a subsidiary of RELX Group plc, as its Managing Director. RELX Swiss Holdings is active mainly in the management of intellectual property and treasury management for the RELX Group. Prior to joining the RELX Group Alberto held executive finance positions within UBS, Nestlé and Ascom. He also managed his own treasury consulting firm from 2008 to 2012.
He has a Master in Business and Economics and a Master in Advanced Studies in Real Estate from the University of Zürich. He also attended the Stanford University Senior Executive Program in 2000.
Stefan Blarer was a founder and business angel investor in QualySense, and served on the Board of Directors since its formation in 2010.
He has more than 30 years’ experience working in the Life Science industry, in particular Agribusiness Research and Business Development. He has broad international experience in innovation and general management, strategy and business development both in a corporate as well as an SME setting.
From 1995 to 2007 he was a member of the Novartis corporate Research Advisory Board and the Syngenta R&D leadership team. Responsible for R&D technology globally, including analytical, research computing and laboratory automation, he led his section successfully through several mergers and reorganisations.
In 2007 Stefan founded Drimarch in Basel, a consultancy for Life Science and innovation management, where he acts as Managing Director. Drimarch consults European SMEs and start-up companies on innovation and growth and can act as business angel. Three partners of Drimarch including Stefan work closely with the Swiss Federal Innovation Agency CTI as CTI start-up coaches.
Stefan Blarer earned an MSc and PhD in Chemistry and Natural Sciences from the ETH in Zürich. Postdoctoral studies in natural chemistry at ANU in Canberra and Zoecon in Palo Alto CA as well as certifications in business organization and teaching add to his curricula. He was born in 1954 and is a Swiss citizen.
Beat was an early investor in QualySense and has been a member of the Board of Directors of since 2013.
He has more that 20 years of experience working in the field of Venture Capital and Private Equity. During his career Beat was responsible for fundraisings from institutional investors as well as investments in the amount of several billions USD. He has managed direct investments as well as co-investments and fund investments in various sectors around the globe.
Since 2013 he serves as the Chairman of Ferrum, a family owned industrial group active in the global beverage and food industry (market leader in can seamers) as well as the chemical, fine chemical, oil and pharmaceutical industry (centrifuge technology). As a business angel he is backing various start-ups in Europe and the US.
He is also Vice-Chairman of Invision, Chairman of Phytoceuticals, serves on the Board of several other companies and supports the Swiss Government as a CTI start-up coach.
Beat Buehlmann earned a PhD in Banking and Finance from the University of Zurich and completed the AMP at Harvard Business School. He was born in 1968 and lives in Zurich.
Markus was an early investor in QualySense and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2011.
He has more than 30 years of experience working as an attorney-at-law and civil law notary in the field of commercial law. In addition, for more than two years, he received commercial training within the Credit Suisse organisation in Zürich and New York. From 1995 onwards, Markus set up and expanded as resident partner the Zug office of the Bär&Karrer law firm.
In 2004, with his colleagues Andreas Baumann and Dr. Urs E. Kohler, he founded BKS Lawyers Notaries, which, as of 1 January 2016, changed into Schnurrenberger Tobler Gnehm & Partner, a Zug based five partners’ boutique of attorneys, notaries and tax advisors.
Markus holds various directorships in Swiss SMEs and is the vice-chairman of the Zug Bar Exam Commission of Experts.
Markus Schnurrenberger earned a master of law from the University of Zürich in 1983. He was born in 1958, is a Swiss citizen and lives with his family in the city of Zug.
Francesco is a QualySense co-founder and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2010. He is currently Chief Executive Officer at QualySense.

He has successfully led QualySense through several product and customer development milestones and has raised CHF 15 Million.
Francesco is a rocket scientist and earned a PhD in Natural Sciences and Spectroscopy at the University of Zürich. He has studied in Switzerland, Italy, France, USA and Australia and speaks fluently 4 languages. He was born in Italy and lives in Zürich.
